INTERNSHIPS IN GHANA WITH AGROFORESTRY PROJECT

Join an innovative agroforestry initiative in Ghana for an internship! OKO Forests creates socio-economic opportunities for local communities by creating regenerative agroforestry systems. Starting their operations in March 2016, this organization has the vision of designing ‘replicable models that can be used across the tropics to rehabilitate landscapes at scale.’ The project contains two major components; an agroforestry buffer zone, including the production of economic fruiting trees, and the growth and processing of a high value cash crop called cassava.

Apart from advocating the conservation of biodiversity in Ghana, OKO Forests also stimulates the local economy by creating jobs in rural areas.

What to expect as an intern?

The organization consists of a small and intimate group of extremely passionate members. As an intern, you’ll become an integral part of the team, and you’ll use your skills and knowledge to contribute to OKO Forest’s mission.

Your responsibilities will depend entirely on the type of internship you choose to apply for. They can include developing and managing communications channels and media, focusing on permaculture techniques and training local farmers, or, if you have the right academic background, doing research.
