What an amazing and beautiful three months in Costa Rica. The staff became like family! They were all so kind and supportive. The location is stunning and there is so much wildlife. The turtle program was incredible and I got to be involved in beach monitoring, baby turtle releases, exhumations, and permaculture activities. I loved the responsibilities and learning more about how to look after the turtles. It was a great feeling to be fully responsible for them and so saving hundreds of eggs every day and getting to release the baby turtles was truly inspiring. The internship was an amazing experience. Roots and the nonprofit were both very well-organized; it was clear they had put a lot of effort into ensuring that all the necessary arrangements were in place prior to my arrival, which made the transition into my role very smooth. The environment was also unbelievably beautiful and it was wonderful to connect with all the people I got to work with.The internship was an amazing experience.
